Imaging Techniques
A Brief Introduction
This is a well-established technique commonly used to help alleviate discomfort from rib pain. It is an elegant and low-risk procedure which involves the injection of a small volume of local anaesthesia and corticosteroid using US image guidance to ensure the needle is directed to the desired intercostal nerve target.
